Flexible Scheduling
For your convenience, we offer a full eight-week session . You can choose ANY four to eight weeks throughout the summer season. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Before-and-After Care
Before-Camp Care and After-Camp Care are available at the Rosenthal JCC in Pleasantville, where children enjoy supervised free play and other organized activities in the JCC's gymnasium. Before-Care begins at 7:30 a.m. and After-Care lasts until 6:00 p.m. Parents are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at the JCC, and the JCC transports children to and from Camp.

Supervised, Small-Group Environment
We limit total enrollment to ensure that each child will benefit from our well-supervised, small-group environment. Each child is encouraged to learn and grow at his/her own pace with support from caring, mature staff. Specialists enhance our waterfront, arts & crafts, music, theater, dance and computer programs, and are selected for their abilities to engage children of all ages. Parents receive weekly updates on their child's progress throughout the summer.

Scenic Camp Grounds
Located on 19 acres of scenic woodland in Croton-on-Hudson, Camp Discovery offers a fully equipped country setting.

Membership to the Rosenthal JCC
Children enrolled at Camp Discovery also benefit from an individual membership to the Rosenthal JCC throughout the year. Children can participate at reduced fees in a wide range of other activites at our main campus in Pleasantville and at our Yorktown branch.

Trailblazers
We are proud to offer our highly successful camping program for children and adolescents with special needs. Trailblazer campers are integrated into a mainstream environment, under the careful supervision of camp staff and with the assistance of trained shadow staff members. All Trailblazer staff have training, camping expertise, maturity, patience and compassion. Campers must be able to function in a small-group setting, and an in-take interview is required. Acceptance and enrollment are subject to the discretion of the Camp Director. Any child who receives summer services will be in the Trailblazer program.

CIT Program
Our Counselors-in-Training Program for 15 year olds provides teens with varied training assignments within the camp setting, and teaches them valuable leadership skills. CITs receive an honorarium at the conclusion of the camp season. An application and personal interview with the Assistant Director are required. Training workshops begin in April. Please call Sandor Haft at (914) 741-0333 x12 to apply.
