January’s Mitzvah of the Month is in honor of Stephanie Crispinelli, a former Rosenthal JCC camp counselor and volunteer. Stephanie was committed to helping poor, hungry and disadvantaged children around the globe. While volunteering on a humanitarian mission with Food for the Poor, her life was tragically cut short at the age of 19 during the January 2010 Haiti earthquake.
This month, we will be collecting new and gently used sports equipment. All soccer-related items will be shipped by Food for the Poor to three schools in Jamaica that Stephanie’s family has built in her honor. All other items will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester in Mt. Kisco.
