County Executive Rob Astorino welcomed Mayor Gil Livne of sister city Shoham, Israel, at an intimate gathering last night. Astorino presented Mayor Livne with a gift on behalf of the residents of Westchester – a set of Westchester county seal-emblazoned tumblers. The Rosenthal JCC presented Astorino with a gift, too – a Passover Haggadah. Both leaders reaffirmed their support for each other’s countries as allies and friends.

Mayor Livne and Gabi Hadar, Executive Director of Shoham’s municipal Culture, Recreation, Sports and Youth company, are visiting Northern Westchester and the greater York area on a Leadership Mission through the Global Jewish Connections program between the Rosenthal JCC and Shoham, Israel. The program is made possible by UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish Agency for Israel. <MORE>
