Support for the Whole Family During the Early Years

SIBSHOPS™ FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Do you have a typically developing child who is beginning to ask questions or show signs of distress because of a sibling with special needs? SibShops for Preschoolers is an activity based group will explore the world of “same” and “different” in an age-appropriate manner and give them their own time to feel special. Click HERE to register.

PARENTING DISCUSSION GROUP

Join us to discuss various parenting issues, such as nutrition, separation anxiety, discipline, sleep training, kindergarten preparedness, the role of grandparents, discipline, managing the influence of the media, dealing with bullying, and more.

This monthly support group is organized through Project SEED, an early childhood training program that supports early emotional development and is sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York in collaboration with Westchester Jewisch Community Services (WJCS) and the Jewish Education Project (JEP).

EARLY INTERVENTION SUPPORT AT JCC PRESCHOOL

The RJCC's Early Childhood department is proud to provide comprehensive coordination and support services for families with young children who are at risk for speech, learning and gross/fine motor weaknesses. We help guide parents through the maze of assessments, forms, committee meetings and therapist appointments to make sure that children have the right educational environment for their special needs - both at the JCC Preschool as well as in entering Kindergarten.

Our classroom environment and continued staff training make it easy for children to receive appropriate therapies in an integrated, sensitive manner. Integration with our new Occupational Therapy Center has enabled us to expand services to include individual occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy both inside and outside of the classroom.

We are grateful for the support of Joel and Janis Rabinowitz and others for The Juliet Rabinowitz First Steps Special Needs Fund, which helps make these services possible.
